Planning permission for Coal Board Site

Planning permission has been granted for the redevelopment of the demolished Coal Board housing site to the south of Glen Shirva Road in Twechar, East Dunbartonshire.

The new masterplan consists of 150 units within the overall development, with an immediate Phase One development of 55 two-storey units varying from two bed cottage flats to two and three bed disabled, terraced, and semi-detached houses.

The new housing provides both active streetscapes and passive surveillance of adjoining open space together with a footpath network all reflecting Designing Streets design philosophy.

The project is envisaged to start on site in April 2013.
