First phase of Abbey Quarter Masterplan on site

The first phase of the Abbey Quarter Masterplan - a combined retail and housing development on the former Arnotts site in Paisley Town Centre, has commenced on site.

The £4m masterplan, designed by Cooper Cromar on behalf of Park Lane Developments (Renfrewshire) LLP, consists of 31 one and two bedroom flats for Link Housing Association, together with a second phase of development to transform the listed Arnotts building into nine additional apartments with ground floor retail.

The residential site is located on Lawn Street, one of Paisley’s most prominent streets, facing a conservation area that includes Paisley Abbey and Paisley Town Hall, all set within a high quality landscape and streetscape setting. The Grade ‘A’ listed Methodist Central Hall is located immediately to the west of the proposed site and 1930’s Art Deco Arnotts retained façade.

The project is intended to revitalise the profile of the area and re-introduce significant residential development to the Town Centre, reflecting the existing adjacent facades and maintaining the character of the townscape with a high standard of design.
