Glasgow Fort’s £9m Leisure Extension

A 45,000ft² extension to Glasgow Fort Shopping Park, housing a multiplex Vue cinema and 24,000 ft² of restaurant space let to TGI Friday’s, Prezzo, Harvester, Chiquito and PizzaExpress has opened.

Extending the development of the site to the north, Cooper Cromar’s design of the unit retains the architectural design ethos of the existing development with low level glazed canopy cover and high level aluminium shingle cladding, while the introduction of a terracotta clad feature panel provides clear identity to the glazed cinema entrance.

Formation of level access and expansion of the existing car park facility, together with provision of extended servicing facilities, provides a valuable leisure addition to the current retail offer ensuring that the award winning Shopping Park maintains its success as a major retail destination.

This is the latest project to be completed by Hercules Unit Trust (HUT), the specialist retail park fund advised by British Land and managed by Schroders.

Dan Clark, Senior Asset Manager for British Land, said: "The leisure extension cements Glasgow Fort's premier regional centre status by broadening its appeal even further, establishing the scheme as a night time destination and helping to extend the centre's trading hours."
