Designed by Cooper Cromar, Police Scotland’s new £24m administrative headquarters is heading towards completion in November of this year and will become home to 1,100 police officers and civilian staff at the start of 2015.
The Riverside East site will replace the old Strathclyde Police Headquarters at Pitt Street in Glasgow City Centre and will provide 135,000ft² of Grade ‘A’ office accommodation over five floors at a fantastic riverside location in South Dalmarnock.
This is the latest transformational project Cooper Cromar have been involved in with Clyde Gateway Developments following the completion of the BCO award-winning Eastgate office development last year. The project was made possible thanks to a £16 million award of shovel-ready funding from the Scottish Government and is the biggest single contract let so far by Clyde Gateway.
David Dool, Executive Director at Cooper Cromar, commented: “We’re delighted to be involved in this development and yet another prestigious development project with Clyde Gateway. The building will provide the highest quality workplace for Police Scotland and is designed to BREEAM ‘Excellent’ standards. Following Glasgow’s recent success in hosting the Commonwealth Games this latest development continues that legacy together with Clyde Gateway’s commitment to the regeneration and transformation of the area.”
