First houses from award-winning Roman Fields development

Cooper Cromar have completed the first 55 homes for Places for People’s award-winning Roman Fields residential development in Twechar.

The overall development, designed by Cooper Cromar, comprises 150 new homes, open space and infrastructure, and forms the beginning of a wider range of redevelopment for the former mining town in East Dunbartonshire.

The development comprises a mixture of cottage flats, terraced houses, and semi-detached houses with level HFVN access, and provides both active streetscapes and passive surveillance of adjoining open amenity space, together with a road and footpath network reflecting Designing Streets design philosophy which engages with the existing adjacent housing and open amenity play spaces.

The first phase is due for completion in October and phase two is due to commence on site shortly afterwards.
