Grade ‘A’ Glasgow office development granted approval
12th June 2014
Cooper Cromar’s design for a new 10-storey office development in Glasgow’s traditional office core has been approved by Glasgow City Council.
This project comprises the demolishment of two commercially obsolete office buildings to make way for a modern 10 storey, Grade ‘A’ office building, which will provide 95,000ft2 of open-plan office space with basement car parking.
Located within the heart of Glasgow’s traditional office core, the contemporary building is set to rein-force the building lines on West Campbell Street and Cadogan Street and will provide a new sense of scale, order and rigour within its urban context.
An impressive double height angled glazed screen will mark the entrance to a spacious foyer. From here five energy-efficient passenger lifts will transport staff to all levels of the fully air-conditioned building.
Designed with the occupier in mind at all times, large open-plan floor plates of up to 10,000ft2 , with minimal internal columns, will ensure maximum flexibility for space planning and sub-division. Large expanses of glazing will maximise natural daylight and the generous floor to ceiling height will facilitate natural ventilation.
The development has been targeted to achieve an EPC rating of ‘A’ and a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating.
