Designs revealed for new £10m Care Home

Cooper Cromar are currently working on designs for a new £10m, 84-bed Care Home, to be built on the site of Crosslet House in Dumbarton.

The Care Home is the first of two 84-Older People’s Homes to be developed by West Dunbartonshire Council and responds to their vision to replace older facilities with buildings that meet the Care Inspectorate’s standards of care and environment and to provide service users, their relatives, and staff, with a modern living and working environment which enables better person centred care within more eco-friendly facilities.

Well-equipped and spacious en-suite bedrooms will be grouped in clusters of ‘houses’ around communal living and dining areas, with secure outdoor facilities, enabling residents to enjoy a range of living and social facilities with as much of a domestic feel as possible.

A central ‘street’ area, linking each group of homes, will further enhance a sense of community and will also provide a variety of health and care services that will be available for residents, visitors and day care centre users.
