Carnwadric pioneers new construction system

A mixture of terraced and flatted housing in Carnwadric, designed by Cooper Cromar for Glasgow Housing Association (GHA), has pioneered a new factory-based timber panel construction system from CCG - one of Scotland’s largest privately owned construction and manufacturing companies.

The houses and flats were delivered to the site in the southside of Glasgow in panel form with external finishes, windows, doors and the internal plasterboard finish already in place with holes for all sockets and services pre-cut. This greatly reduced site time and led to an extremely quality finish due to so much of the process taking place under factory control.

GHA are now looking to utilise this construction method on other projects of this nature in the future.
