Tower 464 is an award winning residential development comprising the refurbishment of an existing derelict 1960s office block to create 50 contemporary flats, duplexes, and penthouses with associated parking in Glasgow’s South Side.

The existing building lay derelict and open to the elements for five years, suffering from considerable vandalism, and presented the opportunity to turn a blight into a real landmark.

In a local context, the proposal sought to extend the existing housing base along a significant length of Pollokshaws Road and serve as a catalyst for further redevelopment of the area which it has successfully achieved.

A contemporary design approach has been utilised along with light weight construction techniques to address limitations on the frame’s loading characteristics. The existing plant room storey has been removed and replaced by four two-storey penthouses, with high levels of glazing, commanding tremendous views over the City.
