Overlooking the Firth of Forth, Western Harbour comprises 3,000 residential units ranging from 3 – 16 storeys with partial undercroft car parking, together with 538,195ft² of commercial space incorporating an eight hectare linear central park providing open amenity space for residents and office workers.
A range of densities and building heights to the west perimeter boundary ensure a micro climate that protects the central linear park and streets from high wind exposure.
Infrastructure links with existing transport, cycle ways and footpath networks are envisaged to ensure contextual connections with Leith are extended within the proposed Masterplan.
The Masterplan reflects a truly sustainable development in terms of housing tenure, diversity, business and retail opportunities. Transportation linkage and ecology issues are also being addressed to ensure this masterplan represents a model for future high density mixed use urban developments.
