Great George Street is a stylish mixed use development, located directly above the existing underground train lines in Glasgow’s west end, comprising 16 apartments and 5,000ft² of retail space at ground level.


The flats are generally accessed via external gantries to the rear of the development, with provision for seating areas to take advantage of views over Ashton Lane. Private rooftop gardens are also provided for penthouse residents.


During the course of this project Cooper Cromar worked closely with artists commissioned by the developer to design and construct the largest stain glass window in the country. This provides public artwork externally to the lane whilst providing a colourful backdrop to the main staircase.


Due to the proximity of the underground network, all flats have been constructed with acoustic floors to minimise any potential impact of noise or vibration from the passing trains.
