Gateway Glasgow is a 100 acre site situated approximately five miles south-east of Glasgow City Centre, providing up to one million ft² of business, industrial and distribution space.


Over 400,000ft2 of accommodation has already been developed attracting several prestigious occupiers. This masterplanning commission has therefore lead on to the successful completion of not only flexible speculative office and industrial space, but also several highly complex and bespoke facilities for a number of national and international businesses.


This former heavy industrial brownfield site suffered from a wide range of contamination, underground service, ground condition, and flooding constraints, as well as several ecological issues relating to the River Clyde.

These constraints were cleverly resolved using a combination of platforming and compensatory flood storage with a surcharging solution, that allowed these platforms to be compacted for development without the use of piling and therefore without disturbing deep contaminants. A highly cost effective solution.
