Ideally located in Glasgow’s Merchant City, the Ramada Jarvis Hotel has been extensively refurbished to provide an attractive new frontage with stylish facilities within.
New facilities include a function suite, bar, restaurant and kitchen facilities over ground and basement floors. As well as the internal alterations a new frontage has been provided to the hotel formed with natural stone, structural glass and stainless steel cladding.
As the location of the works was on the site of the historic Charles Rennie Mackintosh Ingram Street Tearooms there was continuing dialogue with both planning and listed building authorities to ensure any existing features were retained and that all materials used were of a quality in keeping with its listed building status.
Construction works on the project had to be phased due to the hotels requirement to remain operational throughout the construction process. This involved close liaison with the hotel staff to ensure the decanting from area to area went smoothly and minimized impact on the construction programme.
