Cameron House is a new, 12,916ft², state-of-the-art Community Education Centre providing a range of facilities for people of all ages, in Prestonfield to the south of Edinburgh City Centre.
Cooper Cromar worked extensively with the local community to design their new Centre through a variety of workshops, presentations and meetings.
The result is a striking, modern building housing a large sports hall with space for three badminton courts, a dance studio, a large multi-media room, an art room, crèche facilities, a computer suite, meeting rooms for community group meetings and councillors’ surgeries, and outdoor terraces together with a landscaped community garden and external all weather play facilities.
The Centre is now being promoted by the City of Edinburgh Council as an exemplar model for city wide community education centres in the future.
