South Lanarkshire Council

Rigside Nursery and Primary School is the second of 16 schools to be upgraded as part of South Lanarkshire Council’s school modernisation programme.

The new timber framed nursery building sits alongside the existing primary school and provides 4,845ft² of additional high quality accommodation, along with a safe and spacious 753ft² covered external play area.

The new nursery provides much needed space and has allowed part of the existing school to be refurbished to form additional, well equipped and modern classrooms to cater for an increase in enrolments.

By breaking the building down into smaller elements the sense of scale is made much more intimate and the school now gives pupils and teachers a teaching and learning environment worthy of the 21st century in a small campus like setting.
