Cooper Cromar was commissioned by Glasgow Housing Association (GHA) to undertake client briefing, space planning, interior design, shell alterations and move management to assist in all aspects of moving their headquarters from Granite House, Argyll Street to Wheatley House, Cochrane Street, Glasgow.
The project entailed a major internal upgrade of mechanical services and plant areas to greatly improve the internal environment and energy efficiency of the four-storey building.
The fit out concept was modelled closely on Glasgow City Council’s Tomorrow Office concept which creates an efficient and flexible open plan office layout based around furniture that incorporates carefully integrated services providing ‘follow me’ phones and IT within this greatly enhanced internal environment.
This working environment is supported by flexibly bookable communal meeting areas, both enclosed and open plan; touch down and print/copy amenity hub areas; plus break-out areas that also support informal working and meeting. A high quality reception, meeting and exhibition area reflects GHA’s updated corporate identity.
GHA’s Training Academy is also accommodated within Wheatley House, providing conference, meeting and training facilities for up to 250 people with their own dedicated break-out, reception and entrance areas.
