Midlothian Council

Designed for a complement of 1,200 pupils, The Newbattle Community Campus is a direct replacement for its existing namesake that will provide education, social, community and extensive sports and leisure facilities.

As a sister project to the Lasswade Centre the new complex will share many of the same features and provide a very similar facility giving a consistency across the Midlothian Council educational estate.

Designed around the learning hub atrium concept, the facility will be a true community hub providing not only state-of-the-art educational facilities but an impressive sports centre including a 25m competition pool, diving pool, dance studios, games hall and individual CV/gymnasiums.

Two new synthetic pitches will complement the existing four grass pitches already
on the site.

Together with Kelso High School, The Newbattle Community Campus forms the second phase of the £1.25bn Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) Schools for the Future programme, following on from the successful completion of Eastwood High School and The Lasswade Centre.
